Everything you were too afraid to ask about EVs
This week, I sit down with EV expert Sarah Aubrey to separate the myths from the reality and answer the questions so many Australians are asking.
I’ve been wanting to do an episode on electric vehicles for a long time. Not because I think everyone should rush out and buy one tomorrow, but because there seems to be so much confusion around them. Every time the topic comes up, there are plenty of opinions, a few myths, and surprisingly few people who’ve actually lived with one.
I’ve owned an electric car for seven years now, and while I certainly don’t claim to be an expert, I have learnt a lot along the way. And, I’m even contemplating what kind I want next.
This week I invited Sarah Aubrey from Electrify This onto Prime Time. Sarah spends her days helping everyday Australians understand electric vehicles in plain English, not through the lens of a car enthusiast, but as someone who wants practical answers.
We talk about the real costs of owning an EV, charging at home, battery life, resale values, tax incentives, and whether they’re actually a good fit for Australians in their Prime Time.
Whether you’re seriously considering an EV or simply curious about what all the fuss is about, I think you’ll come away understanding the topic far better than when you started.

Hello Primetimers!
Magical week! First, to start the week my Facebook community charged through 100,000 followers - woohoo! I only started making reels on Facebook late last year - and the interest in learning in little, free bite-sized lessons almost daily has been phenomenal - and fun to get better at over time. People ask questions, chat back - and I love it. If you haven’t seen them, pop on in and follow me at facebook.com/becwilsonepic. Or if you prefer Instagram - I post them there too, here.
A quick trip to Sydney yesterday saw me riding the Manly ferry to a speech on the Manly waterfront - cruising across gorgeous Sydney Harbour with the sun shining. It was a brilliant day for it. Now back at my desk, rugged up, It’s like it was a distant memory.
We’ve kicked off the HESTA Epic Retirement Course today - with thousands of participants hungry to learn. And the next Epic Retirement Flagship Course kicks off on the 13th August with hundreds already booked. I’ve just added a heap of extra earlybird seats because you ate all our first allocation up so keenly - and I love people to get a great deal on retirement education. But we will close earlybird 25% off this weekend if we dont sell out of seats earlier. You can download a brochure here and book your place.
Enjoy this episode on electric cars. And have a great week.
Until next week - Make your Prime Time count!
Bec Xx
