Today’s episode with Terri Bradford from Morgans Financial is all about navigating one of the biggest transitions in life: knowing when it's time to step back from full-time work—or even to retire.
Hi, the end comment about where you want to be in five years time and work forward is excellent, l think l have been looking too much at just a date to retire without the what.
Hi. I am in pre-retirement mode at the age of 67. I have noticed that a lot of your material assumes that someone will receive an aged pension to some level.
I have been told squarly by my financial advisor that I won't get any at all. Am I missing something?
Hi Helen, About 62% of Aussies access the age pension in retirement but as super balances grow, that will decrease. I teach people how it works as well as how super works so they can know their own income options and build layering of income streams.
If you aren’t eligible you likely have too many assets, too much income or both. That’s not a bad thing it just reflects in your own situation and the things you need to learn about don’t necessarily include the age pension but all the other things that matter to YOUR epic retirement. It might be worth knowing about the Commonwealth Seniors Health Card nonetheless; then getting on and planning how to make your retirement epic… because every retirement is personal really!
